Not sure how it got to be the last day of Feburary, where did the month go?!

Here are some of my favorite things this month.

This was one is from Target, I love alot of their clothes this season.
And I a totally obsessed with this color right now fro spring!

These earrings are from A Tad Monroe and they are my new everyday earring.
We don't have them in stock anymore right now, but they may make a return appearance.

I am in search for the perfect Maxi skirt.
I know there are tons out there, but I'm short and that makes it hard.
Striped Maxi Skirt
So, this one is a fav that I am coveting and soon will be mine (wahahahah... enter evil laugh here).

I have re-discovered my Stila palette.

My pintrest life

I'm still sick, which royally sucks.
I mean were on day 10 here people.
I know what you're gonna say, "why haven't you gone to the DR."
Well the truth is I keep telling myself it has to be on the tail end, I mean how long can this possibly last. So I wait another day, and another, and well here I am on day 10.

So, lots of sleepless nights lead to lots of pintrest love...

I really want to paint my red wall in my kitchen this turquoise color

Beautiful turquoise walls set a great backdrop for black & white chevron accents. #turquoise #chevron #black #nursery
It will be amazing.
love the blue kitchen cupboards

I have been so short tempered with my kids because I don't feel good-
I constantly need a reminder that there is no perfect mom.

Motherhood

I saw this and loved it. (I don't have a basement, I do live in Texas after all).
My sister Anna could (& should) totally do this.

and I want some Lace in my life

(Great site for cheap dresses!)

Sometimes I need a reminder to be myself and not try to fit other people's mold of what they think I am or should be.

Here's to hoping I wake up feeling better tomorrow.
If not, maybe I will finally go to the DR. (maybe ;) )

Happy Valentine's Day (if you're into that sort of thing)

The Hubs and I are one month and one day shy of celebrating our 10 year anniversary and we have never done Valentine's day.

I think it's super sweet if your man got you fill in the blank or sent you flowers, but I have just never jumped aboard the V day train.

But after we had kids I do feel the need to get them Valentine's Day gifts, nothing big, just a little something so they know they are loved.

I would hate for them to be in therapy when their older telling some shrink that their parents didn't love them because we never gave them Valentines, Just kidding (but really, wouldn't that be sad).

So this Valentine is for The Hubs and kids because life without them... well it wouldn't be MY life.

(except the TEA part, can't stand the stuff...)

And... just incase you need some sweetness, here's Miss M this week.

sick day

I discovered the downside of being a SAHM today.
I am sick, and I still had to drag my butt outta bed to take of these kids that wont stop calling me mom.

I have found the downside in what has mostly been a positive change for me.

Heres' hoping it's a short lived cold and not the dreaded flu-

Deception in cooking

Deception is what it takes to get my kids to eat the veggies that they think they don't like.
My kids are not picky eaters, mainly because they don't have the option.
They eat what we eat or they don't eat.

But I am trying to find ways to eat more veggies myself without feeling like I'm always eating veggies.

One of my favorite remedies is to add a ton of blended up veggies to pasta sauce.
Just throw everything you have into the blender...I add a little of the sauce, it helps it blend better to have some liquid.

Last night I had celery, carrotts, broccoli, and zucchinni.

But I also chop some up to add because that's the way (uh huh uh huh) I like it.

The kinda greenish yellow sauce is the one from the blender and then you mix it with the rest of the can (did you think I made it from scratch? come on now)

Once you mix it all together, it all looks the same.

Then when the kids pick out some of the chopped veggies it's not a huge fight because I know they are getting plenty.

It'll be my secret.
And the hubs and I think the sauce tastes better with all the blended veggies too.

Step out of the box

We get in a routine, we settle in.
We get comfortable, go through the motions.
Hour after hour, Day after day.

Then something happens, we have a thought, we want to do something different.

But we don't.
Because we are in a box.
We put ourselves in a boxes, we let other people put us in boxes.
But ultimately WE are the only one that can step out.

I can think of so many things that I have wanted to do or be but I haven't because of my box.

Thinking that I can't, simply because I never have.
Worrying what others will think about it.
Because I'm too lazy.
To prove someone else wrong.
Fear.
The reasons I stayed in MY box are endless.

But when I stay in my box, I stay the same.
and I want different.

I want better.
I deserve better- we all do.

SO I am stepping out and trying new things.
Some you can see and others are within.
But I am learning the only way to have change is to step out of the comfy, safe box.

Weekend recap

This weekend... in no particular order...

Was introducted to a new snack (thanks Lauren) and can tell already it's gonna be a problem.
They are SO delicious!

Keddie finally pulled this tooth- it's been loose for OVER a month now. I am not liking how grown up he looks at all!

Had a fussy baby, cutting two new teeth is hard work.
(look at them cheeks- LOVE)

Got some work done for A Tad Monroe

Tried Greek Yogurt for the first time and it wan't as awful as I told myself it would be.

Laughed with this goofball.

Counted my blessings.

The hubs and I went out with Lindsey and Joe and had a great time.

Went to a Superbowl party with the bestie, ate WAAAY to much yummy crap and won the 3rd quarter pool .

What did you do?

a NEW normal

(My internet was out the end of last week so I'm sorry I missed the end of the week)

Man I'm tired, like all of the time.
I swear I heard somewhere that working out was suppossed to give you energy.
Maybe it's because I'm older and I am working out SO much that my body is screaming "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!?"

My most immediate goal is fast approaching.
I am doing a 5K @ The Bayou City Classic on March 9th with some of my family and my goal is to RUN the entire thing.
Two years ago I did the 10K and didn't really train and it sucked.
This time I wanna do it right.

In an effort to reach my goal, I have been doing classes at the gym 5 days a week and am running as well at least 3 days. (I can't imagine why I'm tired)

I am in no way a runner.
But I want to be.
I want to start showing my kids what having goals and achieving them looks like.
I want them to grow up to value "me time" and see the importance of taking care of themselves.
For Monroe especially, I want her to see that her Mom took care of herself first so that I could better take care of my family.
I want to give my kids a good start.
I want to set the example.
I want to give them a NEW normal.

Langston is struggling to settle into a staying at home routine, and I think we may have some sibling rivalry going on...maybe

Keddie wanted his hair slicked back for school . It took everything in me to let him leave the house like that. Picking my battles.
