Monroe is 1 (already?)!

I swear in my head this is still what she looks like. A sweet, tiny, newborn angel. She was and continues to be an answer to my prayers. She is impossible to look at without smiling. Her joy fills every room. I sure do love her and can't believe she's one.

Happy Birthday sweet Monroe!

At her party this past weekend. She woke up with a teething fever but was so happy the entire party.

 Cousin Jack and Monroe

This is our unsuccessful attempt at getting a pic of the little cousins.
Dang babies-

So happy

She thought Langston's sunglasses were cooler than any of her gifts.

This is the best pic we could get.

Just a peek at the party set up. We did Pink Lemonade for the theme.
If I ever get back to blogging, I will share more.
I think I can, I think I can (just for you Lisa & Anna).

Weekly Goals

Here goes my attempt at having tangible short term goals that will (hopefully) help me attain my long term goals.

My long term goal involve a beach and a swimsuit and not feeling uncomfortable.
That could be a ways off.
baby steps.
Speaking of babies, mine is almost a year old. They say you can call it "baby weight" until they turn 1, after that, you have to claim it.
I don't want to claim it. I want to lose all this baby weight- from all 3 of my babies- because, honestly I never did inbetween the others.

So, on to this week's goals.

Pinned Image
Goal 1:
Try a new "clean" recipe (bonus points if the kids will eat it)

Goal 2:
Log 15 miles this week.

Goal3:
Get a workout in 6 days.

Goal 4:
Drink a TON of water.

Good start for today, I logged 2 miles with my running partner.

Kitchen Makeover Follow-up :A new seat on life

Welcome to the transformation of our kitchen.
It's true what they say " The Kitchen is the heart of a home".
For our home that is especially true since we have a very open floorplan. You can see the kitchen from the front door (which I HATE by the way), and it is open to the living room (also not a fan).

Recently repainted- check
now comes new stuff..
Chairs...

these are the old chairs, nothing fancy, original covers that were on there when we bought the table about 7 years ago.

fabric from Hobby Lobby
Our goal was to use only the turquoise design.

So glad my mom and sis were here to help get it done.

Thanks mom & sis!

I like them ( not love, I  think I'm still not used to the brightness ) I am really nervous about them showing dirt and ick (hello, 3 kids here).
But the color is perfection, so glad I said bye to the dark red.

It's coming along.

Bayou City Classic

The 5K was this past weekend. I'm from a large family, and we represented.

sis in law, sist, sis, sis in law

I truly could not imagine what my life would be like without these two!

And maybe the best part- Keddie did it with us!

Reality check

Reality is the 5K is Saturday.
And because of this sickness that just wont stop, I haven't been able to run in over 3 weeks.
I am getting nervous.
Reality is that I will complete it, just not in the way that I set out to.

But I get to do it with BOTH my sisters.
We are rarely all together since we are so spread out, so I am excited about that part.

Also, Keddie has decided that he wants to run with me
(I think he's concerned about me doing it bc I've been sick for so long).

We will have a good time.

The important thing is that I WILL complete it.

I heart turquoise

I got a wild hair on Saturday afternoon and decided I wanted to paint the kitchen.
I've been thinking about it for a while, just hadn't fully decided on the color scheme.
I have been in love with all things Turquoise for a while now and decided to just go for it.
Luckily the Hubs was on board so we headed to Home Depot.

I finally settled on Gem Turquoise (top right ).

Here is what the kitchen looked like before. It was a deep red and kindof tuscan-y yellow.

Here is above the cabinets, yellow with red decor.

My "helper"

Half the wall done and it was already SO much brighter.

There is alot of shadow in this pic because it was getting dark.
This is the blue up against the old yellow- not a great combo...

Blue wall complete, it actually went really fast.

My helper sweeping behind the furniture so we could paint the wall. He LOVES to sweep, always has.

I didn't realize when I picked the color, but Mike pointed out that it is "Tiffany Blue"- pretty close, maybe that's why I love it so much.

Not sure how we could have done it without him ;)

This is the color that we painted all the walls that were yellow. A nice neutral tan to anchor the turquoise.

My other helper passed out while we were working. (Yes he still sucks him thumb, it's a struggle, let it go)

I am in LOVE with the new colors.
Hopefully this week I will find time to put it all back together and I can give you updates.

High five for Friday!

Can I get a High Five for Friday?!
It came so fast yet took so long to get here.

L, M and I went to have lunch with K today.
(abc soup in that sentence...)

L was SO excited to go, he talks about starting kindergarten next year non-stop.
He gets excited about pretty much anything, but it keeps life fun!

ANd this morning I accidentally stumbled upon a kids sale at a local church and I HIT THE JACKPOT!
Check out these sweet number I got for Miss M...
smocked dragonfly cuteness

So much Mudpie at bargain prices...

and lastly a new favorite snack (thanks Lauren), SO good!

P.S.
I have been stressing about finding an Easter dress for Miss M without breaking the bank.
I found this one in a FB group for reselling kids clothes.
I love it and it was a steal of a deal- can't beat that.

I'm linking up with Lauren for High Five for Friday!

My Favorite Things for February

Not sure how it got to be the last day of Feburary, where did the month go?!

Here are some of my favorite things this month.

This was one is from Target, I love alot of their clothes this season.
And I a totally obsessed with this color right now fro spring!
and at $18, its a steal

These earrings are from A Tad Monroe and they are my new everyday earring.
We don't have them in stock anymore right now, but they may make a return appearance.

I am in search for the perfect Maxi skirt.
I know there are tons out there, but I'm short and that makes it hard.
Striped Maxi Skirt
So, this one is a fav that I am coveting and soon will be mine (wahahahah... enter evil laugh here).

I have re-discovered my Stila palette.

This has all the perfect colors for me. I get mine at Ulta, but I'm sure they have them anywhere Stila is sold.
