Not so Rowdy...

I've been thinking- dangerous- I know!

I don't think that my blog title is reflective of my blog.

I mean really, it's titled, "The Rowdy Ramsdens"

and I focus mainly on my interests and activities.

ORIGINALLY I had planned on blogging on a way to keep all the extended family updated on the rowdy boys but I has evolved into more of a mommy outlet.

So...I am taking suggestions, I mean you know me best, so what do you think???

Stress + Calorie Counting= NO BUENO

Of course it would happen that I decide to start watching what I shove into my mouth on the same day that I am super stressed. (Now that I am typing this, maybe that's what caused my stress.) Nothing huge just a TON of little things that all add up to me wanting to go home and eat a bag of popcorn for dinner with a glass of wine. Should be easy enough, right.

No, my kids pick last night to not want to eat Their dinner, which means no snacks, which means I can't very well have my popcorn infront of them (well I could have but not if I wanted to keep on the good mommy side of the fence). Dang kids!

What's a mom to do? It's not often anymore that I just need, yes I said NEED to veg out with a bag of popcorn, but yesterday I NEEDED it. So I did the only thing I knew to do, asked Mike to take the kiddos outside to play for a while. It was glorious. I even watched a DVRed show completely uninterrupted (a small miracle in my house).

Today I woke up feeling a little less stressed (only to remember Mike will be out of town with work all next week) so well see where it takes me today. Happy Hump day!

Book Review: There's Cake in my Future

My Book Club read this month was There's Cake in my future by Kim Gruenfelder.

I had a REALLY hard time getting into this book. It followed a group of 30 something friends. It started with the group of friends at a shower ( honestly can't remember if it was wedding or baby). When it came time for the cake, they all pulled a charm from the cake that is supposed to tell your future. The host had it rigged to give her friends the charm they wanted, but oopps, there was a mix up. The story follows the friends as they continue to live their lives and see the charms predictions come true for those around them.





It got better as I got further into it. Mostly I just wanted to see how one of the relationships with Seema and her long time friend (that she's secretly in love with) panned out.





It wasn't a "Book Club" book per se, not a lot of deep meaningful issues to talk about. But it was a cute, easy read. I would recommed for a day at the beach but not for a book club.

My new BFF

I would like to introduce you to my new BFF. Her name is My Fitness Pal, she's a calorie counting app on my phone, but you can call her Fit-E (Fit-E, Fifty (as in Cent)haha).

So probably my hubby is the only one that will get that so let's keep it moving shall we?

Starting today (bc I'm a realist and new I needed to wait until after the Easter festivites were over) this little app is gonna be my life.

She is a calorie counter, she will keep track of my daily intake, you know meals and ALL of my snacks. She also takes into account my exercise, so yep you guessed it, I'm back on that bandwagon too. I think it will be interesting to see what I actuall eat and it will definitely be EYE OPENING to see what it all adds up to be.

I am gonna be super honest and eat like normal this week so I can see the damage I've been doing (literally, bc my pants don't fit).

I'm scared (you probably should be too, ha) . We'll see what happens.

March was a rough month for Blogging...

So it has come to my attention (thanks Lindsey) that I have not been doing a very good job updating my blog. I think I set the goal to blog more and then disappeared...What happened might you ask...

Well, I blame it on the two M's...March and my Mom!

My mom came to visit in March and things were crazy busy, we enjoyed spring break with my local siblings and their kiddos.

We did lots of running here and there and Everywhere.

But now March is over and my Mom went home.

I already miss her but am glad that I can get back in my routine. It's completely different having her visiting versus when she lived here.

And now its time to

Missing a friend...

This is me and two of my best friends from growing up. Crysanna Jo, Me & Beckie.

We had so much fun together

Crysanna Jo and I are getting together this week for dinner. I am really excited about it but also a little sad. I wish that Icould call Becky up and have her join us, I wish that I had went to see her when she got sick. I wish that I had gone to see her before she died.

I miss her alot but Crysanna and I will remember her and I KNOW that it will fell like she is with us.
